If you own a home in the Albuquerque area, hard water is quietly shaping your plumbing. Scale builds inside the water heater and shortens its life by years. It coats fixture cartridges until faucets drip. It films glassware, stiffens laundry, and leaves the mineral crust you keep scrubbing off the showerhead.
A lot of what looks like unrelated plumbing trouble traces back to it. That is why we test water before recommending treatment, and why we will often suggest a softener alongside a water heater replacement rather than watching the new tank scale up the same way the old one did.
The rest is straightforward plumbing done properly: leaks found before they wreck drywall, gas lines run and pressure-tested to code, repipes for homes still on failing galvanized, and fixtures installed so they last.
Repairs, installations, water treatment and emergencies across the Albuquerque metro.

A conventional tank should last eight to twelve years. In the Albuquerque area we routinely pull them out well short of that, and the reason is almost always sediment. Hard water drops mineral out as it heats, it settles in the bottom of the tank, and the burner then has to fire through an insulating layer of scale to heat the water above it.
That means longer run times, higher gas bills, and a tank bottom running hotter than designed until the steel gives up. The rumbling or popping sound people describe is exactly this — water flashing to steam underneath the sediment layer.
An annual flush genuinely helps. Softening the water helps more. And when a tank does need replacing, that is the right moment to decide whether treatment goes in at the same time so the new one lasts its full life.

For most homes, yes. Our water is notably hard, which is why scale in water heaters and fixtures is such a common find. We test first rather than assume.
Yes — new runs, extensions for ranges, dryers, fire pits and grills, plus leak diagnosis. All work is pressure-tested and permitted where required.
Galvanized corrodes from the inside and eventually restricts flow and discolours water. If you are seeing pressure loss or rusty water, a repipe is usually the durable fix rather than chasing individual leaks.
