What is an anode rod?
A sacrificial metal rod that corrodes so your tank does not. Replacing it is inexpensive and dramatically extends tank life.
Can I flush it myself?
You can, though drain valves clog in hard water and can be awkward to reseal. We include it in maintenance visits.
Does it help a tankless unit?
