A technician arrives in the scheduled window, listens to what you have observed, diagnoses the system, explains the cause in plain language, and gives you a firm written price before any work begins. You approve it, the repair gets done, and the system is tested before we leave.
Before Arrival
You get an arrival window and a courtesy call ahead of the technician. Have ready: the system’s approximate age, what symptoms you have noticed and when they started, whether the problem is constant or intermittent, and any codes showing on the thermostat or control board.
Diagnosis
This is the part that separates a good repair from a repeat visit. Our technicians do not guess and swap parts. Expect measurements: refrigerant pressures with superheat and subcooling, capacitors load-tested against rated values, amp draw on the compressor and both motors, temperature split across the evaporator coil, and inspection of the filter, condenser coil, contactor, and condensate drain. The goal is to find why the part failed, not just which part failed — otherwise you replace the same capacitor again next summer.
The Explanation and the Quote
You get a plain-language account of what is wrong, what caused it, and what happens if it is left alone. Pricing is flat-rate by the job, in writing, before work starts — so a repair that turns complicated costs what you agreed to. If the system is old enough that replacement deserves consideration, you get both numbers side by side with realistic remaining life. Our technicians are not paid on commission.
The Repair
Trucks carry the parts that fail most often here — capacitors, contactors, fan motors, control boards, refrigerant — so most calls are finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, you get a timeline and, where possible, a way to keep the house livable meanwhile.
Before We Leave
The system runs through a full cycle and gets verified. You get an invoice stating warranty coverage on parts and labor, plus a note on anything else trending toward failure so you can plan rather than be surprised.
