Installation
Assembly type selected by hazard level and local requirement, installed in a code-compliant location — RPZ assemblies above grade with drainage for relief discharge, pressure vacuum breakers above the highest downstream outlet — with permits pulled where required and inspection coordinated.
Certified Testing
Backflow testing requires a certified tester using a calibrated differential pressure gauge and following a defined procedure. We verify each check valve holds against reverse flow, that an RPZ relief valve opens at the correct differential, and that no internal component leaks past. Results are documented and submitted to the water authority where required — an uncertified test is not a test as far as the jurisdiction is concerned.
Staying Current With Code
Requirements vary by jurisdiction and change over time, and enforcement differs between residential and commercial properties. We track the current New Mexico and local requirements rather than working from what was correct several years ago.
Repair and Replacement
When a test fails, we identify what failed — a fouled check valve seat, worn springs or seals, mineral scale, or freeze damage — and rebuild or replace. A failed test is not something to defer, since the device is providing no protection in the meantime.

Two Local Realities We Address
Winterization. Outdoor irrigation assemblies crack in a New Mexico hard freeze if they are not drained and protected. We handle that before the season.
