Fewer Contractors Still Work on These

As forced air took over, a lot of HVAC companies quietly stopped servicing boilers. That leaves owners of older adobe and territorial homes in Albuquerque and Santa Fe — many with radiant floors or cast-iron radiators — calling around for someone who still knows the systems.

We do. Circulator pumps, expansion tanks, zone valves, aquastats, low-water cutoffs and pressure relief are all routine work for our technicians, and we service both gas-fired and combination units.

  • Hydronic Experience Radiant floors, baseboard and cast-iron radiator systems serviced by technicians who work on them regularly.
  • Pressure & Safety Testing Relief valves, expansion tanks and low-water cutoffs verified as part of every repair.
  • Emergency Coverage A dead boiler in January is a no-heat emergency and we dispatch for it 24/7.

What We See

Signs Your Boiler Needs Service

Hydronic systems give clear warnings when you know what to listen for.

  • Some Zones Never Heat

Usually a failed zone valve, an airlocked loop or a circulator pump that has stopped.

  • Banging or Kettling

Noise in the pipes or the boiler itself often means scale, trapped air or circulation problems.

  • Pressure Dropping

A system that keeps losing pressure has a leak somewhere, or a failing expansion tank.

  • Visible Leaks or Corrosion

Staining around fittings, the pump or the relief valve is worth addressing before it becomes a failure.

My serviceman was cordial, friendly, professional, and had a great sense of humor. This is his first visit to my house. I felt comfortable with him. He does a great job.

The overall service of B. Carlson is excellent. They have been my HVAC company almost since I bought this house and I see no reason to switch. As they say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, B. Carlson ain't broke, so I've no reason to fix them. I have recommended them to friends and neighbors many times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service radiant floor heating?

Yes — radiant floor, baseboard and cast-iron radiator systems, including zone controls and circulators.

My boiler keeps losing pressure. What causes that?

Usually a leak somewhere in the loop or a waterlogged expansion tank. Both are findable, and the expansion tank is an inexpensive fix.

Do you work on boilers in Santa Fe?

We do. Santa Fe is in our regular service area and has a high concentration of hydronic systems.

Can a boiler be replaced with forced air?

It can, but it is a significant project involving ductwork. We will lay out both paths honestly rather than assuming a conversion is the right answer.
