Do I really need a humidifier in New Mexico?
Most homes here benefit through winter. Indoor humidity routinely drops below twenty percent, which is well under the comfortable range.
What humidity level should I target?
Generally 35 to 45 percent. Higher than that in a cold-climate window can cause condensation problems.
Will hard water damage it?
It scales the pad, which is why annual pad replacement is standard here. We handle it during maintenance.
