Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an ERV and an HRV?
Both recover heat. An ERV also transfers some moisture, which matters more in a dry climate where you would rather not exhaust all your humidity.
Will ventilation make my bills go up?
Slightly, but recovery ventilation reclaims most of the energy. It costs far less than opening windows.
Do bathroom fans count as ventilation?
They are spot ventilation, which is necessary but not the same as whole-home air exchange.
Does my older home need this?
