Yes. We provide full sewer excavation for homes and businesses throughout the Albuquerque and Santa Fe metros — for the situations where trenchless methods are not viable and the line has to be exposed and repaired or replaced directly.

When Excavation Is the Right Answer

  • Collapsed or crushed pipe, where there is no host pipe left to line
  • A significant sag or belly. Trenchless methods follow the existing pipe’s path — they cannot correct slope. Fixing a sag means digging and re-grading.
  • Route obstructions — conflicting utilities, or a layout that will not accommodate access pits
  • Short damaged sections with easy access, where a targeted dig is faster and cheaper than mobilizing trenchless equipment
  • Connection repairs at the city main or at a cleanout
  • Orangeburg pipe too deformed for other methods
  • Major plumbing renovations requiring new line routing

Our Process

  1. Camera inspection with locating to mark the problem’s exact depth and position
  2. Utility locates called before any digging
  3. Permits pulled where code requires
  4. Surface protection — matting on lawn, tarps for excavated soil
  5. Excavation, with shoring on deeper trenches
  6. Repair or replacement of the damaged section
  7. Inspection where required, then backfill with proper compaction
  8. Surface restoration — concrete, asphalt, or landscaping

Why Precise Locating Matters Most

Without it, digging becomes exploratory — one hole after another looking for the problem. With it, we dig once in the right place. That single difference controls both cost and how much of your property gets disturbed.

Trenchless Evaluated First

We check whether pipe lining or bursting will work before recommending a dig, because preserving driveways and mature landscaping usually costs less overall. But we will say plainly when excavation is the right answer rather than forcing a method that will not hold.

Restoration Done Properly

Proper compaction on backfill — inadequate compaction is why some sewer repairs leave a depression that settles for years. Concrete cut cleanly and repoured. Serving Albuquerque since 1971, with financing available.
