We handle whole-home ventilation, exhaust ventilation for kitchens and baths, evaporative cooling (which is ventilation as much as cooling), air handler and ductwork work to correct airflow, smart controls, and commercial ventilation systems.
Whole-Home Ventilation
Ventilation systems bring controlled fresh air into the home and exhaust stale air, without the trade-off of opening windows during a dust storm or high-pollen day. This matters more in newer, tightly built homes, where the air exchange that used to happen through leaks simply does not occur — and indoor pollutants and VOCs accumulate as a result.
Exhaust Ventilation
Kitchen range hoods and bathroom exhaust fans. The detail worth checking: a range hood that recirculates rather than venting outside does nothing about combustion byproducts from a gas range. Many homes have the recirculating kind and assume otherwise.
Evaporative Cooling as Ventilation
Worth understanding locally. A swamp cooler pushes a continuous stream of outside air through the house by design — it is a ventilation system that also cools. That constant air exchange is genuinely good for indoor air quality, which is one of the underappreciated advantages of evaporative cooling in this climate.
Airflow Correction
Often the real issue behind “poor ventilation” complaints. Undersized returns, leaky ducts, blocked registers, and unbalanced systems mean some rooms never get adequate air movement regardless of what equipment is installed. Duct evaluation and correction frequently solves stale-air problems more directly than adding equipment.
Controls
Smart thermostats with circulation modes run the blower periodically even when not heating or cooling, keeping air moving and filtered through the system rather than sitting stagnant.
Commercial
Make-up air, exhaust systems, and code-required ventilation for restaurants, retail, and other commercial properties.
Start With an Evaluation
Stale air, uneven temperatures, and lingering odors have several possible causes. Contact B. Carlson about indoor air quality in Albuquerque.
