A whole-home plumbing inspection covers supply lines, drains, fixtures, the water heater, shutoff valves, water pressure, and visible gas connections — with a written report of what we found, what needs attention now, and what to plan for.

What Gets Inspected

  • Supply lines. Visible piping checked for corrosion, mineral buildup, and failing joints. Pipe material identified — galvanized steel in an older home changes the whole conversation.
  • Water pressure. Measured at a hose bib. Excess pressure stresses every joint, fixture, and appliance in the house, and it is the most commonly missed root cause of repeat leaks.
  • Shutoff valves. Main and fixture stops, checked for corrosion and confirmed to actually turn. Discovering a seized main during a burst pipe is the worst possible timing.
  • Drains. Flow tested at each fixture, traps and visible drain lines inspected, and slow drains noted before they become blockages.
  • Water heater. Age, corrosion, T&P valve, expansion tank, venting on gas units, and sediment condition.
  • Fixtures. Toilets for leaks and running, faucets for drips and flow, and supply lines to each.
  • Visible gas connections and appliance connectors.
  • Signs of hidden leaks — staining, dampness, and a meter check.

What Gets Flagged Most Often in Albuquerque

Hard water scale in fixtures and water heaters. Galvanized supply pipe nearing end of life in pre-1970s homes. Missing or failed pressure reducing valves. Corroded angle stops. Water heaters past ten years that have never been flushed. Root intrusion in sewer lines in neighborhoods with mature trees.
